I was thinking about your post all day. I would tend to agree that the idea of civilization, in and of itself, is a self-is-god type goal. But are there benefits of using the science and structure around us? Did Fulton Sheen advance the kingdom using television with Life is Worth Living? How about preserving the lives of people to accomplish more acts of service through medicine?

I do fully grasp that God doesn't need us to do any of these things since He authored all of reality and Jesus showed that it exists and grows through Him. But is there a middle ground here where we can use civilization as a sharper tool and not worship it like a golden calf?

So apt, the Resurrection as the stone of offense. If death is reversible by Divine power, then nothing is predictable, reducible, certain, or captive to human manipulation, exploitation, explanation.

Ahriman (Rudolf Steiner's archetypal bureaucrat) weeps.

See now / The Keeper of His Word, / step out revived, / advance / in a gust of life / leading the [once-]wicked and dead / in a merry dance / light-shod / right to the Living God.
