Let It Pour

I served in uniform. It’s not just the years of my life, but I sacrificed a significant portion of my body’s functioning to government policy. I’m partially disabled now thanks to that commitment. I have no regrets because I moved under the call of God. But that service alone gives me the right to comment on things my government says and does.

While pursuing that career, I learned an awful lot about the way government works. I had sufficient clearance to know the details and motivations for a lot of stuff. I already knew the theory of how it was supposed to work, and could see the contrasts between the two. At the same time, I learned an awful lot about faith and Scripture, in particular where the Bible and American government don’t agree. I’m not blind to what’s wrong.

More than all of that, I have a commission from God to stay here in the US and witness to His Word about the wickedness of the government and the people, warning them of His wrath. All the carping about my lack of patriotism, whatever people might mean by saying such words, comes from Hell. It can go right back there, as far as I am concerned. America is not my god. No political agenda comes from the Bible; they are all uniformly wicked.

The government is lying about why it wants to attack Venezuela. I’ve done the research, and if it matters to you, you should do your own. Don’t rely on Google for your search; they will lie and cover up a lot of information. Try DuckDuckGo or Mojeek; you’ll get a more honest reply to questions about that stuff. Such military action is not in the American people’s best interest. I’m praying that any military operations will fail, that it will be a worse boondoggle than Vietnam. From what I’ve seen of the state of our military these days, success isn’t that likely in the first place.

But I’m standing with the Lord on this one. Notice I’m not praying about whether the US attacks because I’m convinced that’s a given. We are past that point of decision. Rather, I’m praying that the Lord will reveal His hand and the absence of His covering over the US.

Nor should you imagine that I support the government of Venezuela. I’ll not lift a finger to help either side because both are swimming in moral filth. I’m sad for the losses and destruction that will come; the people will suffer. It doesn’t have to be like this, but the people on both sides are morally depraved and their governments are worse. There’s not a lot of innocence on either side.

So, what matters most to me here is that the wickedness of the US government and society be exposed and that God’s wrath fall heavily. What happens to me doesn’t matter much. I’ll be glad when the Lord says I’m finished and I can come Home. Let His wrath pour!
